I hardlly succeed in focusing so well on one subject at the time, but these days I made it.
The Book: Rubicon: The Last Years of the Roman Republic
The title says pretty much all about the subject, I just want to add that for me it is an interesting description of the ancient Roman political leaders and their motives which led to the events of mid first century BC. Right from the beggining it presents the rather complex situation that resulted in Sulla's dictatorhip, along the way introducing Mithridates (very interesting figure), Pompey the Magnus and nt surprisingly, Caesar.
The Movie: HBO Rome
Yeah, yeah ... I have been hiding in a cave for the past 4 years. Anyway, here there are just some links I found interesting about this series.
